Interview with Lolita Delprat Caviglioli, at the heart of naturopathy
1. Can we know a little more about you?
I have been a holistic naturopath for a year. I worked for 15 years in the fashion industry in Paris. And then, for 3 years, I trained in naturopathy at Cenatho (European College of Naturopathy), but also in well-being massages, foot reflexology, Chi Nei Tsang and manual facial lifting treatment.
2. What is naturopathy? 🌿
Naturopathy is a set of practices that aim to optimize health through an optimal lifestyle adapted to each individual. Its role is to teach natural methods and techniques that allow our body to use its super power of self-healing. Its main objective is to educate everyone about the prevention they can do to avoid getting sick. But in reality, the naturopath mainly supports pathologies already present and this thanks to numerous tools, always natural.
3. What is the link between naturopathy and diet? 🤤
Naturopathy mainly focuses its work on 3 pillars: diet, physical exercise and emotional management. Through diet, we will already look at whether the person's body is rather overloaded, in which case we will support them on a detox, or if on the contrary it is deficient, we will promote the revitalization of the organs and tissues. The naturopathic keys will act in a truly personalized way, to optimize the client's vitality, to help them feel more fit, whatever the technique. Food, and what we put into our body, is linked to all our inflammatory and chronic disorders such as arthritis, gastritis, autoimmune diseases, and even cellulite!
4. Can you explain your approach to health and well-being? 👩🏻⚕️
My vision of health is that we can achieve a correct lifestyle while having fun. I am keen to pass on all the natural keys to optimizing one's state of health, but by dusting off old practices, and above all by avoiding drastic measures. For new habits to take place and last, they must be adapted, measurable and reasonable. With my clients, we move forward together step by step in their vital hygiene program, so that each personalized advice can be implemented correctly and sustainably. You can't change old, ingrained habits in 2 days. Also, I always explain that it is essential to find your notion of balance, because it will promote better health. It is by knowing how to please ourselves at certain moments that we will be able to let go, to enjoy the present moment, to listen to our deep needs, and therefore to provide our body with what it needs (whether in food or in anything else).
5. How can naturopathy help improve digestion? 😉
In many ways 😊 The digestive system begins in the mouth and ends in the anus. So we might as well tell you that we can act at several stages of digestion to optimize it and make it easier! It already begins in the mouth, with chewing and saliva which will pre-digest certain foods using enzymes. We will also support other organs such as the stomach and intestines and do what is necessary to relieve their work. This will also involve the dissociation of certain foods during the same meal, which together could slow down digestion. We can also suggest rest times for the digestive system through monodiets for example. We will of course adapt the solutions to each individual according to their problem and their vital force available at the time of the consultation.
6. How can naturopathy help manage stress and anxiety?
Here again, a range of tools are available to us for managing stress and anxiety. The naturopath can support these disorders thanks to techniques and tools in which he would have been trained such as relaxation (which he will guide during a session), Bach Flowers, aromatherapy, breathing, emotional detox exercises. , but also wellness massage. We can also refer you to reading advice adapted to the problem or even to other therapists (sophrologist, energetician, psychologist) who can complement the work of the naturopath. For my part, I deal with stress a lot in individuals and businesses, these methods work very well when practiced on a daily basis. We must accustom the brain to positive thinking, to letting go, to returning to the present moment.
7. What are the main benefits of using medicinal plants? 🌱
Phytotherapy, or plant therapy, is effective in all disorders such as migraines, digestive dysfunctions, for stress but also for blood circulation, skin problems, etc. Plants act quickly, however they do not resolve a dysfunction in a lasting manner. Let's say that it's a good complement alongside in-depth work.
8. How can naturopathy help improve sleep quality? 😴
Emotional management will allow us to work in depth to relieve the nervous system, which is more stressful in some people than others and which delays or even prevents falling asleep and encourages nighttime awakenings. Then we will of course support food, which will act on sleep hormones. We will favor eating carbohydrates and foods rich in tryptophan rather at the end of the day, which will activate serotonin (happiness hormone), which itself will activate melatonin (sleep hormone which promotes falling asleep and quality some sleep). They must of course be good quality carbohydrates, rather raw, such as whole sugar, seasonal fruit, oilseeds or 80% dark chocolate.
9. What do you think of the maju bowl and vision? 🚀
I think that today if people have more and more this notion of well-being, they do not always have the time or the keys to apply what they know or hear. And it's not their fault! maju was able to create a modern, intuitive, easy-to-use object, which saves considerable time, and above all which adapts to the personalized needs of each person and that is the key point in providing the necessary nutrients to your body . I 2000% validate the concept that you can eat whatever you want, without counting calories or weighing each food. This is really the idea that I convey to my clients, that you have to know how to let go, that restrictive diets and advice are useless and never work in the long term! Yes, you can pay attention to your weight while having fun, and fortunately! 2023, let's continue to move away from pro-regime diktats.
10. Do you have any advice/mini exercises to recommend to our bowlers? 😍
My main advice would be to let go of food . Eating is a primary need that allows our body to be alive and healthy. Today eating is a pleasure. And it must remain as such. The more you control your diet, the more you will burden your mind and the further you will move away from your goals. Eat your fill, learn to understand how your body works and its needs. To do this, before eating:- Practice cardiac coherence for 5 minutes to anchor yourself to the present moment, avoid throwing yourself at food, and certain digestive disorders afterwards
- Chew at least 10 times per mouthful, place your fork between each mouthful to take the time to taste, activate predigestion in the mouth and therefore relieve the work on your stomach, this will also allow you to reach satiety more quickly (at the end 20 minutes).
- Do the exercise of visualizing everything you eat, the smell, the texture, the flavor. Enjoy eating your plate. I advise you to have color, raw, cooked, crunchy, your bowl must make you want it! Enjoy your food !
